In Memory of Unit 36 — Kalmy Sofer z"l

A response truck that carries his name, and his chesed, forward.

OPS-36 is a tribute. Its number is the unit number of Kalmy Sofer z"l, a beloved Chavivim Williamsburg volunteer who was taken from us far too young. Rather than let his memory rest, the division repurposed his Ford F-150 emergency response truck to keep doing the very work he gave himself to — roadside assistance, lockouts and helping a neighbor in need, every hour of the day. Every call OPS-36 answers is another act of chesed carried out in his memory. May his neshama have an aliyah.
