When something goes wrong on the side of the road in Melbourne — a flat at midnight, a dead battery in a parking lot, a flood pushing into your driveway — someone has to come.
Since 2024, that someone has been Chavivim.
Melbourne's Jewish community lives mostly in the South-Eastern Suburbs and Bayside — Caulfield through Bentleigh, St Kilda through Brighton — and that's where we live and respond. Founded in 2024, Melbourne Chavivim is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with a dedicated Shabbos & Yom Tov program for the tasks halacha permits — a Shabbos goy unit for non-emergency needs plus halacha-permitted emergency response by our regular volunteer members. When the phone rings, the closest available volunteer rolls. We're part of the worldwide Chavivim network — same dispatch playbook, same standards — and we coordinate with sister divisions across the US, Canada, the UK and Europe whenever a call needs more than the local team.
Locally, we're who you call when waiting isn't an option, when towing isn't the answer, and when you'd rather hear a familiar voice on the other end.

If you're stuck, call. There's nothing too small.
It's not a service. It's a promise — that when you need help, someone will answer, and someone will come.
