Search & Rescue
Friendly, trained volunteers ready around the clock — helping lost and injured hikers get home safe.
When someone is lost in the woods, we're already on our way.
Chavivim SAR is a community-driven volunteer team. Our members train year-round in wilderness navigation, medical response, and technical rescue — so whenever and wherever someone needs help in New York's parks and forests, we can get there and bring them home.
What makes our team different
Three things you can count on — every time we get called out.
Real People, Ready to Help
Trained volunteers from every corner of the community — on standby for calls across the state.
EMT Certified On-Site
Emergency Medical Technicians embedded in every deployment — so injured hikers get immediate, qualified care right where they are.
24/7 Ready
Gear staged, radios on, maps ready. When the call comes in — day or night — we're moving within the hour.
NYS DEC Volunteer Search & Rescue
Our team is certified by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to operate on state lands. Every deployment is coordinated directly with DEC Forest Rangers — so you know the right people are on the case.
