The vehicle represents a substantial step forward in the division's emergency response capability — purpose-built for the kinds of calls that demand more than a standard roadside unit can provide.

The Hummer EV is no ordinary fleet addition. Its headline feature is an onboard EV charger that allows Chavivim to assist stranded electric vehicles by delivering charge directly from the Hummer's own battery system. As EVs become an increasingly common sight on Brooklyn's streets, having a mobile charging solution on call around the clock is a genuine community asset.
Built for Heavy Duty and Flood Response
Beyond EV charging, the Hummer's specifications are built for demanding work. Sixteen inches of ground clearance makes it one of the most capable flood-response vehicles in the Chavivim network — able to navigate inundated streets that would stop conventional vehicles. Its heavy-duty towing capacity extends Chavivim's ability to recover disabled vehicles in difficult conditions, and the expanded frunk and trunk storage allow volunteers to carry a broader toolkit on every run.
